Impactful School Transformation

The Impactful Leadership Model
Designed in 2008, the Impactful Leadership Model serves as the framework to structure successful schools that breed leaders who empower those around them.   Participants are taken through a series of four (see below) thought-provoking and interactive activities and workshops that provide an honest and candid analysis of an individual’s leadership style and how it impacts their school, staff and students.  Each series can be conducted separately but  it is only  through implementation of Series I-IV  that a truly Impactful environment from “top-down” is created.

Series I:      Are you an Impactful Leader?
Series II:    Become an Impactful Leader
SeriesIII:    Growing Impactful Leaders
Series IV:   Creating an Impactful School

Series I Description:
Are you an Impactful Leader?
Series I will help you answer the following questions:  What kind of leader are you?  Do you lead people by fear and intimidation?  Or, do people follow you because they trust and value your leadership?  Do your employees feel invested in your school and empowered by your leadership?  Or, do you spend a disproportionate amount of time on discipline matters rather than in classrooms observing teaching and learning?  A thorough analysis of your leadership style is completed and feedback is provided to you from those with whom you work in a constructive and honest manner.
Time Frame:  1-2 days; 4-8 hours

Series II Description:
Become an Impactful Leader
Becoming an Impactful Leader doesn’t happen by chance. It occurs through deliberate and thoughtful actions, methods and words.  During Series II, school leaders are taken through a process to develop the interpersonal skills, operational and management IQ to become an Impactful Leader for those who they serve.  At the completion of Series III, participants will understand the difference between being a leader who others want to follow versus being a leader who others follow because they don’t have a choice.
Time Frame:  2-3 days; 8-12 hours

Series III Description:
Growing Impactful Leaders
What processes and systems does your school or district have in place to breed other great leaders.  Series III will focus on developing these processes and systems so that organizational and leadership capacity is built and can be sustained regardless of who is at the top of the food chain.
Time Frame: 1-2days; 4-8 hours

Series IV Description:
Creating an Impactful School
What impression does your school give to visitors or others who walk thru your doors?  Are there visual or artificial barriers between the staff and those who they are there to serve?  Series IV is designed to assist participants in creating a school that has a positive and Impactful impression on those who frequent it.  Participants are taken through a process that identifies areas and “positions” throughout the building that are critical to creating an Impactful School and provides practical and effective ways to improve them.
Time Frame: 2-3 days; 8-12 hours

The Impactful School Transformation Process
There are hundreds if not thousands of products out there that claim to be the school improvement answer to what ails your kids and school.  How many individuals that represent these products or programs ever step foot in your school to gain an understanding of your school’s  culture, talk with your kids, observe your teachers, or listen to concerns from your community?  The answer is simple . . . NOT MANY!  Prior to the implementation or adoption of any particular school improvement effort, a thorough and very deliberate analysis of your school must be completed.  One size does not fit all!

Designed in 2006, the Impactful School Transformation Process takes all of the above and more into consideration in order to achieve true and Impactful School Transformation.  Coalition staff works arm and arm with school leadership to implement the process.  The outcome is a thorough analysis of your school’s needs and ability to implement needed processes, programs and systems to achieve true transformation into a highly performing educational environment.

Results from implementation of the process in various school settings across the county are shared and discussed.   After a thorough analysis of the student achievement data and organizational structure (material and personnel resources) of the school is completed and recommendations are submitted, teachers and administrators are taken through a process that identifies and targets deficient concepts while creating an instructional framework that breads collaboration, mastery and success.

The Impactful School Transformation Process is as follows:

Process I:       Data and Organizational Analysis (DOA)
Process II:      Stategic Planning
Process III:     Plan and Program Implementation
Process IV:     Ongoing Evaluation
