“Dramatically improving schools and
kids is our business.”
Believe. Expect. Instill. We Believe our children will go to college. We Expect our children to go to college. We will Instill in our children each and every day that they can and will graduate from college.
The Coalition’smission is to lead the nation in creating innovative, engaging and
motivating environments in which students will thrive.
Leadership Institutesare intensive and interactive small group environments created
to develop the leadership skills of students while exposing them to the life-changing
elements of a college campus. By request, these Institutes can be created on any
public university/college for a specific and targeted group of students (middle or
high school; boys or girls). All Institutes are 3 nights and 4 days and are tailored
to a single gender of 50 students. During the Institute, students are involved in
a variety of structured activities around the campus and conducted by Coalition staff
to get them to realize their potential, help them understand the characteristics
of great and influential leaders, develop their own individual leadership skills
and assist them in recognizing that their goals and dreams become more attainable
with a college education.
After arriving on the campus students are given their room assignments and shortly
after begin participating in their activities. Students are supervised around the
clock, take daily tours to different parts of the campus, stay in dorm rooms (2 to
a room), receive information about admissions and financial aid, and gain valuable
insight while meeting and interacting with current university students. Snacks,
drinks and meals are all provided throughout the Institute.
Students will take part in interactive, thought-provoking and engaging exercises
and activities focused on the following:
· Leadership
· Behavior modification
· Self-appraisal
